Establish dedicated Facebook/Instagram pages using #VFWStrong and #StillServing.
Physical Visibility
High-engagement 988 posters in the Post canteen. Media engagement focuses on "Action Shots" to highlight active healing.
Target Demographic
Working-age men (25-64) and younger veterans (18-34) in Astoria.
Training & Leadership
Gatekeeper Training
Mandatory for all volunteers. Focus on SafeTALK (half-day) or ASIST (two-day) to recognize crisis signs effectively.
Auxiliary Partnership
Coordination with the Post Auxiliary as the backbone of logistics and volunteer management for long-term sustainability.
Local Astoria & Queens Resources
NYC Health + Hospitals-Elmhurst
Trauma services and suicide prevention youth programs.
Veterans Rebuilding Life
3801 23rd Ave, Astoria. Specialized art studio and reintegration.
