IN-COUNTRY

A satirical reflection by Author/Artist Phil Fehrenbacher

Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where you served for years in Vietnam.  He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years.  He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country".  The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.

Rocco Moretto VFW Post 2348

Welcome to Rocco Moretto VFW Post 2348

For 76 years, our post has been a cornerstone of this community and a place to honor the service and sacrifice of our nation's veterans. As we begin a new chapter, we're dedicated to revitalizing our post, strengthening our community ties, and continuing the proud legacy that was started here in 1949.

A Message to Our Members

To my fellow comrades, as your new commander, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the trust you have placed in me. As we embark on the fiscal year 25/26, I am honored to share with you my vision for the future of our post. My goal is to not only uphold the incredible legacy we've inherited but to actively shape a new era of growth and prosperity for every member.

My vision is built on three essential pillars, and each one is directly tied to your experience here: **Restoration**, **Community**, and **Continuity**. We will complete the revitalization of our bar and hall to give you the modern, comfortable, and welcoming space you deserve. This isn't just about a new look; it's about investing in the physical heart of our post, a place for you to relax, connect, and feel at home.

Our focus on **Community** means we will create more opportunities for us to come together. I want our post to be a vibrant, active hub where members can forge new friendships, share stories, and feel a deep sense of belonging. Your ideas and participation will be critical to bringing this to life.

Finally, **Continuity** is about making sure our post remains strong for generations to come. We will establish clear processes and procedures that ensure the work we do today lays a solid foundation for the future. I am committed to working with you to make our post a beacon of strength and service for years to come.

I look forward to working alongside each of you to bring this vision to life. Your input, support, and dedication are invaluable. Together, we will honor our past and build a future that truly reflects the spirit of our post and the sacrifices of the veterans we serve. Thank you for this opportunity; let's get to work.
