Annual Buddy Poppy Drive & Veteran Relief Fundraiser
Honor the dead by helping the living! Rocco Moretto VFW Post 2348 invites Post members, Auxiliary volunteers, youth groups, and Astoria community neighbors to assemble at 31-35 41st Street for our annual Buddy Poppy Drive. Assembled by disabled and needy veterans in VA medical facilities, the iconic red Buddy Poppy has been the official memorial flower of the VFW since 1922. Wear your Buddy Poppy proudly and donate knowing that 100% of all contributions are strictly designated to support disabled veterans, military families, and widows/orphans in need.
Assembled by Disabled Veterans
Every Buddy Poppy is hand-assembled by disabled, hospitalized, and aging veterans in VA facilities, providing them with essential financial assistance and vocational therapy.
100% Dedicated Relief Fund
By VFW regulation, every penny raised is placed directly in the Post 2348 Relief Fund to assist local disabled veterans, emergency financial cases, and surviving families.
Symbol of Remembrance & Honor
Originating from the battlefields of WWI, wearing a red poppy symbolizes our enduring contract never to forget those who laid down their lives for American freedom.
VFW National Home Support
A portion of drive proceeds supports the VFW National Home for Children, providing housing, education, and healthcare for orphan and military family dependents.
