Protecting our vulnerable heroes as winter approaches! Rocco Moretto VFW Post 2348 invites Astoria neighbors, local businesses, school groups, and military supporters to 31-35 41st Street for our Annual Care Packages & Winter Coat Drive for Homeless Veterans. Help us assemble hygiene kits, collect heavy winter coats, thermal layers, sleeping bags, and warm accessories for unhoused veterans across NYC.
Winter Coat & Outerwear Collection
Gathering new and gently used heavy coats, thermal jackets, waterproof gloves, woolen hats, insulated socks, and winter boots for veterans experiencing homelessness.
Essential Care Package Assembly
Packing personal hygiene kits containing soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, lip balm, wet wipes, hand warmers, first-aid kits, and non-perishable snack bars.
Veteran Stand Down & VA Outreach
Coordinating direct distribution with NYC veteran outreach teams, VA homeless coordinators, and local emergency shelters to ensure care reaches veterans in need.
Community Volunteer Sorting
Joining Post members, Auxiliary volunteers, youth groups, and neighbors in our hall to inspect, sort, package, and load winter supplies for immediate delivery.
