About Rocco Moretto VFW Post 2348Rocco Moretto Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2348 is dedicated to fostering camaraderie among U.S. veterans, advocating for their rights, and serving our community. Our Post is proudly named in honor of **Staff SGT Rocco J. Moretto**, Rocco "Rocky” J. Moretto was born on June 20, 1924 in New York City. He grew up in the Hell’s Kitchen section of New York, where he played baseball and boxed in his spare time. He was drafted into the Army when he was 17. Rocco passed away on August 26th, 2018 at the age of 94.. We continue his legacy by providing support for veterans and their families, promoting patriotism, and offering various community programs. We actively work to preserve the historical records and personal legacies of Queens' service members from all conflicts. A monthly subscription is essential to keep this legacy alive. These recurring donations provide the stable foundation needed to fund critical, ongoing services: veteran benefits counseling, mental health referrals, mentorship programs, and essential maintenance for our historic Post Hall. Your monthly contribution ensures our doors remain open, our programs run consistently, and the memory of veterans from every conflict—especially those who called Astoria and LIC home—is honored and preserved for future generations.
